In order to adapt to the large-scale and lightweight ship, the performance requirements of high strength ASTM AH36 ship steel are becoming increasingly stringent. Inevitably, there are some inclusions in the process of smelting, but the morphology and distribution of inclusions will have a great impact on the properties of ASTM AH36 ship steel.
Rare earth elements can refine grains in ASTM AH36 ship steel and modify central impurities, thus improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of ASTM AH36 ship steel.
(1) Ce mainly distributes at grain boundaries of AH36 ship plate steel and exists as inclusions.
(2) The hardness of AH36 ship steel can be improved by adding Ce, while the grain size of AH36 ship steel is refined, the morphology of inclusions is improved and the distribution of inclusions in dimples is more uniform.
