According to the minimum yield point, ASTM A131 steel is divided into general strength steel and high strength steel.
General strength ASTM A131 steel is divided into four grades: A, B, D and E. The yield strength (not less than 235 Mpa) and tensile strength (400-520 Mpa) of these four grades are the same, but the impact work is different at different temperatures.
High strength ASTM A131 steel is divided into three strength grades and four quality grades:
AH32 AH36 AH40
DH32 DH36 DH40
EH32 EH36 EH40
FH32 FH36 FH40
The yield strength of ASTM A131 steel AH32, DH32, EH32 and FH32 is not less than 315 Mpa, and the tensile strength is 440-570 Mpa. A, D, E and F indicate the impact toughness of AH32, DH32, EH32 and FH32 at 0°, -20°, -40°, -60°, respectively.
The yield strength of ASTM A131 steel AH36, DH36, EH36 and FH36 is not less than 355 Mpa, and the tensile strength is 490-620 Mpa. A, D, E and F indicate respectively the impact toughness of AH36, DH36, EH36 and FH36 at 0°, -20°, -40°, -60°, respectively.
The yield strength of ASTM A131 steel AH40, DH40, EH40 and FH40 is not less than 390 Mpa, and the tensile strength is 510-660 Mpa. A, D, E and F indicate respectively the impact toughness of AH40, DH40, EH40 and FH40 under the conditions of 0°, -20°, -40°, -60°, respectively.
