Late Friday, the U.S. president announced that he would cut the import quota for Brazil's steel products in 2020, citing the sluggish U.S. market, according to a report by Bloomberg.
"This year, the amount of goods imported by the United States from most countries has decreased significantly, but the number of goods imported from Brazil has only decreased slightly," the president said in the announcement.
Earlier, the US president promised Brazil's president that the United States would not impose steel tariffs on Brazil.
