S355G8+M steel plate surface quality, ultrasonic flaw detection:
1) All surfaces are 100% visually inspected. Unless otherwise specified in this clause, surface conditions are to comply with EN 10163-2, Class A, Subclass 3. The supplied sheet should be suitable for inspection so that its surface can be easily inspected. Repair of defects such as cracks, peeling surfaces or welds (according to EN 10163-2) should be followed by magnetic particle inspection or color inspection.
2) The internal quality of the S355G8+M steel plate: the material must be reliable and free from internal defects that may hinder the purpose of long-term application.
All S355G8+M steel plates shall be ultrasonically tested according to EN10160; ultrasonic testing can be performed before or after final heat treatment.
S355G8+M steel plate steelmaking process:
Converter / electric furnace steelmaking → LF furnace refining → VD furnace vacuum degassing → continuous casting / die casting / electroslag → cleaning and heating → rolling → flaw detection → heat treatment → steel plate finishing → sampling → performance inspection.
