According to the latest data of the American Iron and Steel Association, in the fourth week of September (as of the week of September 25), the crude steel output of the United States is estimated to be 1.88 million short tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.3% and a month on month increase of 0.3%.
In that week, the capacity utilization rate of American steel mills was 85.2%, higher than 68.6% in the same period of last year and 84.9% in the previous week.
In terms of subregions, the crude steel output in the northeast of the United States is estimated to be 172000 short tons; The output of the Great Lakes region is 650000 short tons; The output of central and western regions is 202000 short tons; The output in the southern region is 786000 short tons; The western region is 70000 short tons.
Since this year (as of September 25), the adjusted crude steel output of the United States has totaled 69.54 million short tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%; The capacity utilization rate of the steel plant was 81.0%, higher than 66.8% in the same period of last year.
