Global crude steel output in January increased by 2.1% year on year

On February 25, the World Steel Association (WSA) released data on global crude steel output in January. In January, crude steel output of 64 countries and regions included in the statistics of the WSA was 154.4 million tons, up 2.1% year on year.

Among them, the crude steel output of Asia in January was 111 million tons, an increase of 4.2% year on year; that of EU was 12.29 million tons, a decrease of 12.0% year on year; that of North America was 10.23 million tons, a decrease of 1.4% year on year; that of South America was 3.33 million tons, a decrease of 10.6% year on year; that of Middle East was 3.84 million tons, an increase of 29.5% year on year; that of CIS was 8.49 million tons, a decrease of 1.2% year on year.

From the perspective of key countries and regions, in January, crude steel output in mainland China was 84.27 million tons, up 7.2% year on year. Crude steel output in India was 9.29 million tons, down 3.2% year on year. Japan's crude steel output was 8.24 million tons, up 1.3% year on year. South Korea's crude steel output was 5.75 million tons, down 8.0% year on year. Crude steel output in Italy was 1.87 million tons, down 4.9% year on year. French crude steel output was 1.29 million tons, up 4.5% year on year. Crude steel output in the United States was 7.71 million tons, up 2.5% year on year. Brazil's crude steel output was 2.68 million tons, down 11.1% year on year. Turkey's crude steel output was 3.01 million tons, up 17.3% year on year. Ukraine's crude steel output was 1.84 million tons, down 0.4% year on year.
