The hardness of ABS AH32 ship plate mainly depends on the grain size of ferrite and the spacing of pearlite lamellae, and the content of pearlite has little effect on the hardness.
Two-stage deformation in recrystallization zone and non-recrystallization zone can refine the ferrite grains of ABS AH32 ship steel. Low temperature deformation can promote the precipitation of fine dispersed niobium and titanium carbides in the steel, which is beneficial to the nucleation of ferrite grains and inhibit the growth of ferrite grains. Fine ferrite and pearlite structure can be obtained and the strength of ABS AH32 ship steel can be improved.
Rapid cooling can refine the pearlite lamellar spacing of ABS AH32 steel, improve its hardness, inhibit the growth of austenite and phase transformation ferrite grains, and further refine ferrite grains.
From the above research, it can be seen that low temperature deformation has obvious effect on refining ferrite grain of ABS AH32 ship steel. Rapid cooling after rolling can further refine pearlite lamellar spacing and improve hardness. Therefore, low temperature controlled rolling + rapid cooling process can improve the strength and toughness of ABS AH32 ship steel.
