According to Customs Statistics Express data, in March, China imported 1.322 million tons of steel, an increase of 242,000 tons or 22.4% month-on-month; the average price was US$1226.6/ton, an increase of US$120.5/ton month-on-month, an increase of 10.9%. From January to March, a total of 3.718 million tons of steel were imported, an increase of 540 thousand tons or 17.0% year-on-year.
In March, China imported 10.210.9 million tons of iron ore, an increase of 11.609 million tons from the previous month, an increase of 12.8%; the average price was US$160.5/ton, an increase of US$9.1/ton from the previous month, an increase of 6.0%. From January to March, a total of 28.343 million tons of iron ore was imported, a year-on-year increase of 21.077 million tons or an increase of 8.0%.
In March, China exported 7.542 million tons of RINA AH36 and so on steel, a month-on-month increase of 2.642 million tons, an increase of 53.9%; the average price was US$838.0/ton, a month-on-month decrease of US$6.0/ton, a decrease of 0.7%. From January to March, a total of 17.682 million tons of RINA AH36 and so on steel products were exported, a year-on-year increase of 3.401 million tons or 23.8%.
