ABS EH36 steel is actually ABS E36 under ABS rules. But we are used to write it as ABS EH36. As we know, the shipbuilding steel needs to be certified by certain classification society. There are main 9 classification societies: ABS, BV, LR, GL, NK, KR, RINA, DNV, CCS and a lot of not so famous classification societies such as HRS, VR and so on. Therefore, ABS EH36 steel has a lot of equivalent grades.

Under different classification societies, the EH36 steel has different marks. Most are written as classification society + EH36/ E36: for example, BV EH36, LR E36. Some combines the abbreviation of classification society and steel grade: for example, KE36, RE 36 and so on.
Above ABS EH36 steel equivalent grades have same chemical composition and mechanical properties with ABS EH36 steel. The only difference between them is that they are certified by different classification societies.
GB T 5312 Carbon and carbon-manganese steel seamless steel tubes and pipes are mainly for ship use, also known as shipbuilding steel pipes. Under GB T 5312, there are mainly 5 steel grades: grade 320, 360, 410, 460 and 490. Each grade covers three levels: I, II, III.
