Grade E36 plates approved by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) are higher strength structural steel for offshore and ships building. DNV E36 steel DV E36 marine steel plates have yield strength of 51,000 psi (355 MPa), and ultimate tensile strength of 71,000 - 90,000 psi (490-620 MPa).
DNV E36/ DV E36 marine steel plate has equivalents CCS EH36, BV EH36, ABS EH36, GL-E36, LR EH36, BV EH36, and RINA EH36. DNV E36 marine steel plates in all thicknesses shall be normalized or thermo-mechanical control processed while DNV E36 shapes and DNV E36 marine steel bars in all thicknesses shall be heat treated and rolled.
DNV E36/ DV E36 marine steel plates are used primarily in structural applications in marine / shipping industry for barges, ships, small vessels, support structures and various type of equipment.
