DIN 1.7218 / 25CrMo4 bright bars are Hardening Steel, Quench and tempering special CrMo alloy steel. 25CrMo4 bright bars alloy steel are characterized by medium/high tensile strength and toughness. The machinability of this alloy is good. The 25CrMo4 bright bar alloy steel also has high hardenability and good welding performance. Quenched and tempered 25CrMo4 bright steel alloy bars are suitable to the manufacture of components meanly stressed and even with a complicated geometry (shafts, axles, screws, levers, connecting rods, rocker arms, hubs, flanges, trucks). It can be carbonitrided for the achievement of high-tensile gear wheels. To improve the workability at the machines tools it can be booked with the addition of Ca or re-sulphurized (S60,1%). The use of resulphurized steels involves a worsening of the tensile strength characteristics along the transversal, of the impact strength and of the fatigue strength.

Application Fields:
