V (vanadium) is a strengthening element in steel. Because V is a refractory metal compound, adding an appropriate amount during the powder metallurgy production of cemented carbide can increase the toughness of the material, and the precipitation strengthening of V can increase the strength of shipbuilding steel plate. It can also refine the grains and improve the impact toughness of shipbuilding steel plate.
